E-Info: Now at plasticsmachining.com

Log on for reader service at lightning speed.

Interested in a product advertised within the pages of this issue? Need information quick on an item discussed in one of the articles? Up until now you could contact the suppliers mentioned in Plastics Machining & Fabricating by one of three methods:

1) You could call the company advertising and hope to get a human response out of the sea of voicemail that pervades American business today. And if it's after business hours who knows when you'll get a call back. Chances are this is the best way to contact suppliers, but not the least expensive or time consuming.

2) You could fax the company advertising and wait for a response. But again, you run the risk of having your fax collated along with the growing pile of omnipresent junk faxes.

3) The third option has always been to use the reader service card found in this issue and mail or fax it back to us. Once we get the card from you, our service bureau gets it to the supplier &emdash; total elapsed time about two weeks. Frankly, the bingo card system is by far the slowest method in which to gather information.

Enter E-Info

Now we have an alternative to all of the above. Effective with this issue, readers can request information about any product featured in an ad or article using an online reader service system called E-Info. In many ways it is similar to our traditional reader service card system but it works by gathering and delivering the information with the speed of E-Mail.

E-Info is a totally free service available to advertisers and readers though our Web site, plasticsmachining.com. Simply log onto our Web site and click on the E-Info logo. Easy-to-use menus will guide you to the products and suppliers you want and we'll ask you to register with the same kind of information that we collect on our traditional reader service cards.

Requests are then forwarded to suppliers instantly by E-Mail, allowing them to respond in real time by return E-mail, fax, or phone. In addition, you'll be able to go directly to the suppliers' Web sites via a hyperlink if you so desire.

E-Info is simple, fast, and works for the price of a local phone call. But don't worry, you can still use our original reader service card system. It's still valid and works just fine.
