CYRO INDUSTRIES'
NEW ACRYLIC POLYMERS REFERENCE GUIDE
FOR THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY

Rockaway, NJ – February 3,
2005 - Medical device manufacturers and
design engineers can enhance product quality
with comprehensive product information on CYRO
Industries’ medical grade compounds and alloys.
This new resource features detailed charts and
graphs illustrating the lipid and isopropyl
alcohol resistance, heat aging, and
sterilization of CYRO’s advanced acrylic
polymers. This reference tool details CYRO’s
complete line of CYROLITEÒ acrylic-based
multipolymer compounds, XTÒ polymer
acrylic-based multipolymer compounds, CYREXÒ
200-8005 acrylic-polycarbonate alloys, and
Vu-Stat™ static dissipative acrylic multipolymer
compounds. CYROLITE and XT polymer compounds and
CYREX alloys are ideal for spikes, lures,
fittings, rigid medical packaging trays, valve
assembles, filter housings, IV adapters, flow
controls, as well as many other medical
applications.
The guide highlights three newer products:
CYROLITEÒ Med 2 acrylic-based multipolymer
compound, the most lipid and alcohol resistant
acrylic compound for injection molded disposable
medical devices, Vu-Stat static dissipative
acrylic multipolymer compound, a transparent
polymer providing permanent ESD protection for
applications sensitive to static discharge, and
XT 375TE, impact modified acrylic-based
multipolymer compound for packaging
applications, that is compatible with most
sterilization techniques and exhibits evidence
of tampering and seal integrity.
CYROLITE compounds offer superior lipid and
alcohol resistance, as well as compatibility
with GAMMA, E-Beam, and ethylene oxide gas (EtO)
sterilization techniques. These compounds are
ideal for thin-walled and difficult-to-mold
multi-cavity parts.
XT polymer compounds are transparent, tough,
bondable, and offer a desirable combination of
melt strength, heat resistance, and
sterilization methods, sought after in the
medical packaging industry. These polymers can
be safely sterilized by EtO and GAMMA radiation
methods while retaining package integrity.
CYREX 200-8005 alloy offers a unique combination
of properties ideal for opaque medical device
applications requiring durability and chemical
resistance. This alloy is GAMMA, E-Beam, and EtO
sterilizable and offers excellent impact
strength.
