Xenia, OH (March, 2006) --- SAS  Automation has introduced an adjustable Rotational Degater to be used with their modular component system. This unique application can be constructed with many standard SAS modular parts for multiple linear adjustments. The rotational feature can be set as desired for dual service applications around 360 degrees.

This application is especially suited for cutting multiple gates on different plastic surfaces, rotating both quickly and accurately around a part. This degater can be mounted on any robot beam and thus is not limited to a certain robot manufacturer. For both ease of use and fast changeovers, it can also be mounted on a quick change chuck with one-touch air fittings.


 

The SAS Rotational Degater can be fitted with a variety pneumatic cutting tools with an ASZ 50A (MR 50) capable of cutting plastic up to a ½ inch (12 mm) in diameter.
"Rotational Degaters provide a more automated and easier to use alternative to conventional gate cutting systems for cutting multiple gates," said Richard Petz, general manager. "Unlike manual cutting methods, this new Rotational Degater handles multiple linear adjustments. At the same time it can be set for dual service applications around 360 degrees. Its ability to be mounted on any robot beam makes this an easy system to integrate into any automation cell."
