KINGSPORT, Tenn, May 30, 2002: Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN) announces the introduction of Spectar Clear copolyester.

A new copolyester, Spectar Clear achieves measurably improved sheet

for which Spectar copolyester has become known in the industry.

"A direct result of our drive to offer differentiated products and new,
innovative solutions to our customers, Spectar Clear is the latest entry
in our expanding portfolio of Eastman Specialty Plastics," notes Dr.

Spectar Clear joins Spectar, Spectar Colors, Spectar Green Edge, and
Spectar Frost in meeting specific needs in the in-store fixtures and
display market.
